Who am I & what is my substack about?
What is Daria's Theels about? Who am I? What will I write about?
I thought to first share a couple of sentences about me, so you get an insight & feeling of who I am and what my Substack will be about:
I am Daria, born in Poland, grown up in Germany & currently living in Umeå, Sweden, planning to die here as well ;). I studied biology & did my PhD in Plant Physiology, so I am a scientist. I have painted and drawn my whole life, so I am also an artist. I decided to combine my two passions, so I founded my own company & became a scientific illustrator. I would say, those are the major work-related aspects important to mention here.
More importantly, I am also a very intuitive, empathetic, sensitive, aware and super curious person. I love people & to connect to them, I love psychology, I love philosophy, I love life, I love to think, feel and analyze, I love to help, to listen and to explore. I love adventures, nature and spontaneity. I value openness, radical honesty and vulnerability & one of my most precious adventures of life is the one from my head to my heart.
The majority of my life I have been trained to use my head, to think & analyze… I am now on a journey to get back more into my heart, my feelings, emotions, vulnerability and my soul. I truly believe that a combination of my mind and heart is the way to go in my life. One way to do that for me is through writing and expressing all I experience with words in form of stories.
I can throw scientific knowledge at you if you want, I can analyze, disseminate and logically explain all kinds of things, I can discuss different topics, as long as I have a slight knowledge about it, cos I don’t fear to say “I don’t know”. I believe in scientific concepts, but I don’t believe in everything that is claimed to be scientific. I also don’t believe that science is purely objective. And I believe that there is way more to our existence and universe than scientific methods can prove.
Cos I also believe that there is a God, I believe in past lives and reincarnation, I believe that I totally have an invisible guardian angel floating around me & all my ancestors check in on me regularly. I believe we don’t only have our physical body, but our emotional, mental and soul-body are as important for our overall health and well-being. I believe that the aura each one of us has, constantly shines and spreads, it attracts or repels people, situations & circumstances. I believe in all kinds of alternative healing methods, I believe sound and frequencies can heal and I mostly believe in our own innate power to adjust and readjust & live an abundant life. And most of all, I believe in the experiences that I experienced for myself, on my physical, mental, emotional & spiritual body.
Here, I want to share with you all kinds of thoughts and feelings I come across in my adventure of life by writing about them all (therefore Daria’s Theels = THoughtS & fEELingS ;) )! It could be scientific, it could be challenges I am facing & overcoming, it could be questions I wonder about, situations or conversations I have, anything that sparks my curious mind and opens me up to integrate ALL parts of life: my mind when I need to analyze and execute, my heart when I need to feel and release and my soul when I want to reach for help in higher realms, the invisible universal energies that are around all of us.

Some more practical aspects: I am planning to post once per week, will aim to post on Sundays & see if that day goes well. Free subscribers will get occasional public posts for free and those that pay the monthly fee of 7$/month will have access to all four posts each month . An annual subscription will be cheaper than the monthly subscription.
