I love to live on this planet Earth as a human being! I love being a soul that has all kinds of human experiences, can go on adventures, learn, serve the world, experience beautiful moments, feel emotions, have waves of feelings coming over me, meet other humans and souls, as well as animals, create relationships with them and just fully enjoy the life I was gifted.

Recently I have realized something about what I decided to call “Portals of our lives”, because I have experienced such an intense portal just now. (For that reason I didn’t write and post anything last Sunday, the portal was too intense & magical!)

We enter life on earth through the portal of birth by our mothers, it is the entry-portal to our human experience. We also have an exit-portal, which is the physical death of our body, where our soul leaves our biological suitcase & keeps on traveling. That exit-portal of mine is still a while away I feel :-)

However, there are many other such “Portals of my life” that I have experienced, they are not less important than my entry and exit portal. They are in fact essential for my own development as a human being, also on my soul level.

These other important Portals can be people, relationships, they can also be situations, moments, activities, decisions, jobs, hobbies or anything else of significant importance. I define those portals as “Portals” because they cause a change of direction, a change within myself, a realization, an opening door, a feeling that something has shifted & will continue to go towards another direction.

If I think now about it in retrospect, I have had many of such portals, in all kinds of forms!

It has been friendships that taught me deep closeness & trust after a disappointment, as those friendships still last till this day of my life.

It has been romantic relationships with partners that bring a deep, true and wonderful love, after believing I might not find love again, or ever.

It has been a random scientific paper that I decided to present, leading to an internship in that very lab.

It has been my supervisor who decided to send me off to Sweden for experiments, paving my way to find my forever home in Umeå.

It has been an ethics course and my realization, that I can’t continue with Science in a classical way, then suddenly Art entered back into my life & I became a scientific illustrator.

It has been a breakup which led me to meet a wonderful person who I wouldn’t have had the space and time in my life before.

It has been a random Instagram post asking for volunteers & my decision to jump in, leading to years of wonderful new friendships & hiking & camping adventures.

It has been a Mantra session from which suddenly a huge urge to paint arose, so I started my abstract art journey. Or my writing journey…

I could go on & on… sooo many portals of my life. But I would like to share with you this recent portal I experienced, after which I decided to call all of these moments “Portals of my life”. It all started with Social Media…
