Where & when did Science loose itself?

Today I feel like releasing some thoughts & feelings when it comes to science, scientists & the scientific world out here. Usually these types of outbursts are a bit more on the emotional, passionate-explosive side, they are still full of love & care, but I do not censor myself as much because this outburst needs to leave my system first to be further processed.

So it is time for another one of my lovely rants, because I quickly released it today, the day I am writing this post, & felt that my system needs to have another release, in written form. It will be about the world of Science.

Maybe good for you to know: I am officially part of that world, I have studied biology, done my PhD and then started my own company & now I am illustrating Science for others. In addition, I work together with a scientific journal on the science-publishing & communicating side of this world.

Why I went into this direction in my life is, because I always loved nature and science & found it fascinating to find out about the world we live in, especially the plant-side of it all. I also always loved to read & write, solve riddles & all that is what we do as Scientists.

During my scientific career, I realized that I don’t fit into the current system; with who I am from my personality side, but also with my basic believes around science, the world & curiosity in general. It was a total mis-match.

In addition to that, you might also need to know that I am very interested in life, art, philosophy, psychology, group behavior, personal development and spirituality. I love it all! To me each of those are also a type of science, with their own methods, ways and at the same time very essential for humanity to understand.

So I don’t believe in “one-way-only-science”, black-&-white-science, right-or-wrong science, that natural science stands above social sciences, that only positive results are valuable, that scientists are objective and never subjective (quite the opposite actually), that it all needs to be seen separately, divided…

But it can’t, cos all these sciences are not separated within us…

I am a human being, I have a physical body, I also have emotions, thoughts & feelings & their respective bodies, I have a soul as well, I interact with others daily & I have an effect on my surrounding. So just because I have the scientific title of Dr. Daria Chrobok, does not separate me from all that…
