Today is Valentine’s Day, a day on which love is celebrated, mainly romantic love. Some enjoy this day, others don’t. Some celebrate it heavily, others feel it’s just commercial. Some see it lightly, others criticize it strongly.
What do I think and feel about it? I honestly don’t know, I think I am rather neutral about it, have always been like that; weather in a romantic relationship or not, I never defined my worth or relationship status based on this day.
I can see why it can be kind of a cute tradition somehow, and also something that is not super necessary at the same time, so who knows… to each their own I guess.
Funnily enough, this day coincides with my Wednesday posts and I have been playing with another section idea since a while. I wanted to call it “Love letter to… (insert a loved person)” and use it to express the love I feel towards people in my life. Either people from my present or those from my past. While I try to express my love & gratitude for those loved people in real life as much as possible, I feel that writing down my feelings in form of a love letter here is a great way for me to process different types of love I feel.
So I decided to take this Valentine’s Day synchronicity as a sign for my first “Love letter”, it will be addressed to my Mom.
Without my mom baking me in her belly, I wouldn’t be here. So I owe her everything, she made me and managed to birth me into this world. To me this is such a huge miracle, I will always be grateful to her for that!
