I am in the process of changing my “Daria’s Theels” Substack Newsletter, as I shared with you earlier this week. Feel free to listen to the last audio message if you have missed it.
I want to call it “The DC SciArt Chronicles”. I will share with you why in a bit.
Instead of having this change done perfectly already, I will take you along the journey on how I will do it. It will happen in the next 2-3 weeks, in baby-steps. & I have no clear plan yet :D
This is why I have signed up for a challenge on the first October weekend, where all the participants will choose one of the following five Business models & work on it together in a community:
The five business models to choose from are:
1. Digital Product
2. Paid Community
3. Paid Newsletter
4. Coaching/Mentoring
5. DFY-Service = Done-For-You Service.
In my company that I run, I offer scientific illustrations for my clients. This is a DFY-Service and I also recently started to offer a Mentoring Program & will work on this offer together with another coach I have.
Meaning, Business Models 4 + 5 are set so far.
Since a while already I know that I want to build an email list & that is possible with Substack as a platform.
But I started here to just get used to writing, share my personal thoughts & feelings & experiences in life. I managed to do that & even get some paid subscribers. Which I am SOOO happy about!!
One of the teachers of the October Weekend Challenge is an expert on Substack Newsletters, so I am inclined to work on that one that weekend, so I can get as much feedback from him as an expert as possible.
This would mean: in October I will set up Business Model No. 3 & start promoting it.
But! Don’t be fooled! I already have huge plans to also do No. 1 & 2. I even made my first digital product already, it is a Workbook on how to write a Scientific Article & make it stand out from the masses of articles being published every day. It’s located in the shop of my Website (here).
And that will definitely be part of the community I will build. Including this Newsletter as well. I am already on the lookout on how to structure it & by experiencing different courses I do, I am finding ways to imagine how this Community will look like.
Oh, and meanwhile I am also practicing how to write short & to the point, persuasive & clear, while re-activating my X account (former Twitter), building a following there, while connecting with other writers in the world .
Cos if you think about it, writing is one of the most crucial skills we can learn. We need it for everything!
All this might sound a lot, maybe too much. But somehow, I do not feel drained, yet ;). If I will, I am sure to take a break & take it easy.
The thing is, that I have always wanted to help & bring value to people in the world. I am doing that with my company, even my writing seems to help people as well.
However, in having Business models 4 & 5, I mainly help high-end-clients & I would like to help students and other people as well. This is why I am exploring all that!
Oh, and apart from that, I also want to reach a certain financial wealth, so that I don’t have to worry, neither my family & friends. All these steps serve a bigger plan in the long run & it motivates me to get there, baby-step by baby-step.
And because I believe that all these things could be of value for others, I want to share my process, no matter how messy it might become. There will be lots of stories to tell, experiences to share and failures to change into new directions!
Especially because I also still keep the wish in mind to become an abstract painter, even though I have currently no idea yet on how to go about it :).
This is why I want to re-name my Substack into “The DC SciArt Chronicles”. It will be a compilation about all my, Daria Chrobok, adventures around business, Science and Art, and also life. Because as a Solopreneur, I am my company and it is therefore part of my life, just like my family and friends are an even more important part of my life!
If you want to hang along & support me, feel free to subscribe, in any form you wish to!
Love,
Daria
